BJTC accredited broadcast journalist, with many years experience as a radio presenter / producer as well as in television production. I have strong media law knowledge and reliable technical abilities, with an understanding and appreciation of all broadcast and digital media.
2019 – Present: Journalist, BBC Radio Cumbria, Carlisle.
News reader, reporter and producer for radio and for BBC’s local live service.
2016 – 2019: Journalist, BBC Radio Lancashire, Blackburn.
Drivetime producer, news / sport reader and reporter across all of BBC Lancashire’s platforms for radio and social media. I also used to report for BBC news online’s Local Live feed.

Editor of traffic and travel information used by radio, websites and sat navs.

Newsreader and reporter for UKRD’s Lancashire hub of stations 2BR and The Bee: Specialising in breaking news on-air, social media activity and writing online articles.

I broadcast traffic and travel to BBC local and commercial radio stations across the north. These are either live or pre-recorded and often with a tight-turnaround between each station.

Reporter for the daytime programmes – including breakfast and drive time. I source original content, make packages and report live across the county. Tech op for The Late Show too.
2014: News Editor / Bulletin Reader, Imagine FM, Stockport.
I ran a news desk for this commercial station, reading bulletins with local, national and sport content every hour. As well as updating the website with news stories.
2013: Broadcast Journalist, Real and Smooth Radio, Salford.
I reported for news bulletins on the stations which included; sourcing content, interviewing guests, court reporting, collecting vox pops and editing packages for broadcast.
2013 – 2014: Broadcast Journalist (freelance), BBC North West Tonight, Salford.
I have worked in all areas of the programme – planning, item producing and booking guest interviews. I have shot footage, produced vox pops and interviews that have aired on BBC1.

I have call-screened and sourced programme content for mid-mornings and made packages and reported for Allan Beswick’s breakfast show.

Sourced original stories and leads for the Newshour, while checking facts were accurate and suitable for broadcast. I helped tech-op and screen callers for air during the programme.

2009 – 2010: Head of Marketing, Fuse FM (student radio), Manchester.
Developed the marketing strategy and in control of promotion and brand image of the station, including managing and co-ordinating the Street Team.
2009: Production Co-ordinator, Pangaea Media, Manchester.
I organised all the film units so that the best sections of the festival get covered and liaising with crews to make sure they keep to schedule and time.
2008 – 2010: Radio Presenter / Producer, Fuse FM (student radio), Manchester.
Planned, presented and produced my own ‘chillout’ show. Podcasted interviews and read live news bulletins. I was also part of the production team, creating jingles and audio beds.

I achieved distinctions in all practical work and digital modules. I also recorded and broadcast a 30 minute documentary about sustainable food on a urban vertical farm, based in Salford called The Biospheric Project.
